In accordance with section 12(4) of the Consumer, Trader & Tenancy Tribunal Act 2001, I make the following directions with respect to the conduct before the Tribunal of expert witnesses.

General Duty to the Tribunal

An expert witness has an overriding duty to assist the Tribunal impartially on matters relevant to the expert’s area of expertise. An expert witness’s paramount duty is to the Tribunal and not to the parties. An expert witness is not an advocate for any party.
